On July 2, 2015, I had a freak bicycle accident.  It was about 9:00pm and I was riding my gas-powered bicycle home from Walmart.  I was cutting through a neighborhood to get to the road that leads to my neighborhood.  It was dark and not well lit.  I turned too soon and instead of turning onto the bike path, I turned onto the paved drainage section leading into a drainage ditch.  When I hit the bottom and went flying forward off of the bicycle, I landed facedown on the left incline of the ditch.  As I was flying through the air, it was like slow-motion and I literally felt the sensation draining out of my body.  I knew I was paralyzed before I landed.  The ditch was full of water and my face was in a couple of inches of water.  At first, I could not move at all.  Then I was able to move my right arm to get my face out of the water so that I could breathe.  I do not know how long a lay there, calling out for help.  A man on a bicycle stopped to ask if I was alright.  I told him to call 911.  Would you believe that he did not even have a cell phone!  He waved somebody down.  The ambulance came.  After surgery, I began my life as a paraplegic from the chest-down.

I have created a GoFundMe account so I can get a van that I can drive to college. I have applied to the University of North Florida, of which I am an alumni, for a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.  I'm a Republican.  I want to serve my community.  I would have to start at the bottom, a low-level office, then work my way up.  I ultimately want to reach Florida House of Representatives.

Not all classes are available online. Medicaid pays for transportation for medically-related appointments.  My dad can't get his van modified because there would be no drivers seat.
